Delhi Assembly Bomb Threat: The Delhi Assembly on Tuesday received a bomb threat ahead of the presentation of the state budget, officials informed. Along with the assembly, the email that was sent to Speaker Vijendra Gupta also threatened to blow up the Vidhan Sabha Delhi Metro Station. As per the officials, while the first threat email reached the Speaker's official inbox at 7:49 am, another message was delivered to the Delhi Assembly's email account at 7.28 am, threatening to blow up the key structures in the later parts of the day.
The mail also contained threats to several prominent politicians, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Lt Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, EAM S Jaishankar, and Delhi CM Rekha Gupta. The officials informed that dog squad arrived at the Delhi Assembly following the threat, adding that all the necessary steps were being taken.
"AS check of Vidhansabha has been conducted by BDTs of Security and North District. Nothing suspicious found so far. Necessary Police arrangements are in place," DCP (north) Raja Banthia was quoted as saying by the Times of India. The officials stated that the security agencies have launched a probe to trace the origin of the threat email.

The threat was received hours before the presentation of the second budget of the Rekha Gupta-led BJP government in the national capital. Earlier on Monday, the chief minister stated that the budget will transform Delhi, adding that the government will focus on key issues, including healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
"This budget will not only strengthen infrastructure, but will also become a means to elevate the living standards of Delhiites. This budget is moving towards building a Delhi where citizens can live with better health facilities, excellent education, strong infrastructure, and a clean and green environment," CM Rekha Gupta said in her statement.
"In this budget, priority is being given to better facilities for students, strong infrastructure in the health sector, cleanliness, pollution control, and a green environment," CM Gupta said, according to the official statement," she added.
