Delhi Baba Scandal: The Delhi Police on Wednesday recovered three digitally-altered photographs from the room of Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati alias Parthasarathy from Odisha. He has been accused of sexually harassing at least 17 women at a private institute in the Vasant Kunj area of the national capital.
The fake photographs show the accused “Delhi Baba” posing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former US President Barack Obama, and a politician from the United Kingdom, in what appears to be an attempt to bolster his public image.

What Delhi Police Recovered?
- Sources in the Delhi Police told NDTV that the photographs were found during a search of his ashram quarters.
- Alongside the photographs, investigators also recovered business cards falsely identifying him as the “permanent ambassador” to the United Nations Economic and Social Council and a “special envoy” for the BRICS alliance.
- Delhi Police confirmed the seizure of assets worth Rs 8 crore.
- In addition, authorities recovered what they described as a “sex toy” and five CDs that may contain pornographic material.
- A separate police team had visited Almora and Bageshwar districts of Uttarakhand, where the accused is believed to have fled following the emergence of allegations last week.
After evading authorities for nearly 50 days, since the first complaint was filed on August 4, self-styled godman Swami Chaitanyananda was arrested from a hotel in Agra's Taj Ganj area. During the arrest, the police seized multiple digital devices, including a mobile phone that allegedly had remote access to the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management, a privately-run educational institution where the accused claimed to be the “Director.”
According to the police, the self-styled godman used his position at the institute to target female students, particularly from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), coercing them into sexual acts. He lured students with emotional manipulation, and later resorted to threats, including withholding academic marks, to force compliance.
Authorities have confirmed that Swami Chaitanyananda has a criminal record, with previous cases registered against him in 2009 and 2016.
