Amid rising cases of violence in Delhi, a 52-year-old businessman was shot dead by two unidentified men on Saturday during his morning walk in Delhi's Shahdara, police informed. The deceased is identified as Sunil Jain, who was returning home after a morning walk at the Yamuna Sports Complex. The police stated that several rounds of bullets were fired at the utensils businessman.
"He was returning home after a morning walk at the Yamuna Sports Complex. He was reportedly shot by two individuals who arrived on a motorcycle. A crime team has been called to the scene, and further investigation is underway," police said. Prashant Gautam, Shahdara DCP, informed that the police received a PCR call that a man was shot and the police rushed to the location.

"At 8:36 am, we received a PCR call that two boys on a bike shot a man and fled. On the spot, the police found that a person named Sunil Jain was shot. He was shot 3-4 times. Sunil Jain has died. He owned a crockery shop and was 52 years old. The family is denying any kind of threat," Gautam was quoted as saying by ANI.
He further said that an investigation is underway into the matter. "The crime team has reached the spot. Further investigation is underway," he added. The police also said that the family members of the deceased have claimed that they did not have any rivalry with anyone.

Earlier on Tuesday, a 19-year-old man was shot dead on Thursday in Mangolpuri by goons who fired at least 6 rounds of bullets at him. The deceased was identified as Pankaj, who worked at a garment factory. DCP (Outer District) Sachin Sharma said they received information regarding a man being shot dead at a hospital. He added that the police reached the incident spot and inquired about the incident.
