General Secretary of Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, Sarvan Singh Pandher, ahead of the proposed meeting with Union Ministers, urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and find a solution. "We have a meeting with the ministers today, and we want PM Modi to have a conversation with them so that we can reach a solution. Or else, we should be allowed to protest peacefully in Delhi," Pandher said.

He also said the farmers were positive that a solution would emerge out of the proposed meeting today. “We are going to attend the meeting in a completely positive mood today and we have full confidence that a positive solution will emerge from this meeting,” he added.

BKU(Charuni) chief Gurnam Singh Charuni will be holding a meeting with the leaders and workers of his faction to make key decisions regarding the ongoing protest.

BKU (Ugrahan) will today block railway tracks against police action, where several farmers were beaten and detained at the Haryana-Punjab Shambhu border.

Meanwhile, farmers have established their temporary settlements at the Shambhu border, where they have been stopped by the security forces. Police have been using tear gas shells to displace the farmers whenever they try to break into the fencing.
