Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently under Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody in connection with a money laundering case linked to now-scrapped excise policy, is likely to appear before the Rouse Avenue Court today around 11 am. The court extended Kejriwal’s custody till April 1 on March 28.

- The ED arrested the AAP chief on March 21 in a liquor policy scam. Since his arrest, he has been running the Delhi government from ED lockup and conveys his message to the people of Delhi through his wife Sunita Kejriwal.
- Following Kejriwal’s arrest, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is facing a major leadership crisis ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha elections. His arrest comes at a time when the party’s prominent leader Raghav Chadha, considered Kejriwal’s ‘blue-eyed boy’, had reportedly gone to London in the first week of March for a vitrectomy, which is a type of eye surgery that prevents retinal detachment.

- The Delhi CM called his arrest a ‘political conspiracy’ and the party has been staging protests against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the central probe agency against his arrest. “It is a political conspiracy and the people will give an answer to it," Kejriwal said at the end of his custody before March 28.
- Prominent leaders of the opposition INDIA bloc on Sunday rallied behind Kejriwal against his arrest by the ED and demanded his immediate release. Delhi CM’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, who is playing a crucial role after AAP chief’s arrest delivered a strong message from Ramlila Maidan in the national capital and called her husband ‘lion’. She also delivered Kejriwal’s message of six election promises ahead of the general elections.
- Making submissions for himself before the court, the AAP convenor said, "I am named by four witnesses in the excise policy case. Are 4 statements enough to arrest a sitting CM?"
