Senior Citizen Cells of Delhi Police have been set up in DCP offices of all districts to further strengthen security measures. These cells serve as an important link between the police and senior citizens, facilitating regular meetings, visits and other initiatives aimed at enhancing security.

Special helpline for the elderly continues

Policemen visit senior citizens at their homes in the evening. Those whose relatives live abroad, policemen make them talk to them through video call. Second major incident with elderly in 2 days in Delhi

The police had not yet been able to solve the mystery of the robbery incident of breaking into the couple's house in Ashok Vihar of North-West district on Monday and tying their hands and feet. Another chilling crime against an elderly couple came to light on Wednesday. The bodies of the couple were found in a flat in Kohat Enclave.

Locals said that if the elderly are not safe even in these posh areas, then where will they be safe? In such a situation, the elderly have questioned the security of Delhi Police and demanded that the accused in both these incidents be caught as soon as possible.

During the police investigation, it has been found that the couple could not even get the police verification of the new servant done. They had hired him by trusting the old servant. The servant used to come at seven in the evening. After taking care of the couple the whole night, he used to leave at eight-nine in the morning.

On the fourth day of hiring, he committed the crime. Local resident Satpal Singh said that they have come to live in a posh area so that we remain safe, but he has been seeing for the last two days that miscreants are constantly targeting the elderly in this district. In such a situation, there is an atmosphere of fear and terror among the elderly living alone.
