Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not go to the Enforcement Directorate's office today, the Aam Aadmi Party said on Wednesday. AAP called the summons "illegal" and said ED wants to"arrest" CM Kejriwal. The Aam Aadmi Party asserted that Kejriwal was ready to cooperate with the agency but claimed that the summons was sent with the intention of arresting him. The probe agency had summoned CM Kejriwal concerning the Delhi liquor policy case on January 3rd after he skipped the last call.

"Why has the notice been sent right before elections? The notice is an attempt to stop Kejriwal from campaigning in elections," the party alleged.

"Ready to cooperate in ED investigation but the agency's notice is illegal. They intend to arrest Arvind Kejriwal. They want to stop him from election campaign," Aam Aadmi Party said, reported news agency ANI.

Reacting to the same, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said, "Till date, neither ED nor Center have told us in what capacity they are calling Arvind Kejriwal, he is neither a witness nor an accused. Questions also arise because of the timing (of the summon). When all the parties are preparing for the Lok Sabha elections, conspiracy is being done by the central govt to arrest Arvind Kejriwal so that he cannot campaign for the elections..."

Including this call, CM Kejriwal has skipped three summons by the probe agency till now. Earlier, Kejriwal was summoned on December 21st, but he skipped the meet and prior to that, he skipped the November 2 summon too. Kejriwal skipped summons calling those "illegal" and "politically motivated".

After the previous summons, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had said that they will take legal opinion on the Enforcement Directorate's calls to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the liquor excise policy scam after he returns from his Vipassana. The Delhi chief minister recently returned after undertaking a 10-day Vipassana meditation course.

On the previous summons, the AAP in a statement on Friday had said it is just a political vendetta to counter the party's growing popularity across the country.
