Delhi Fire News: A massive fire broke out at a three-storey polythene factory near Rithala Metro Station on Tuesday evening, claiming the lives of four workers and leaving three others injured. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital and are currently undergoing treatment.

According to the Fire Department, the blaze was reported around 7:30 PM. At the time of the incident, 12 to 13 workers were inside the factory. While most managed to escape, four were trapped inside and later found deceased.

In response to the emergency, 16 fire engines were dispatched to the scene in succession. After a 12-hour-long firefighting operation, the flames were finally brought under control. Cooling operations are still underway to prevent any rekindling.

Due to the intensity of the blaze, eight additional fire tenders were deployed to the scene, making a total of 16 vehicles involved in the firefighting effort. Firefighters faced significant challenges in bringing the flames under control, prompting the use of an earthmover to break down a factory wall and gain access to the interior.

Once the wall was breached, rescue teams entered the premises to conduct a search and recovery operation. Three bodies were recovered around 1:00 AM in the early hours of Wednesday, while the fourth body was found around 9:00 AM later that morning.

Efforts are ongoing to ensure complete safety and prevent any further incidents within the factory premises.
