Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced a festive bonus for Group C and non- gazetted Group B employees under his government. The eligible employees will receive Rs 7,000 as a one-time bonus, Kejriwal said. He further said the move would cost the state exchequer a total of Rs 56,000 crores.

"We will provide Rs 7,000 as a bonus to the Group B non-gazetted and Group C employees of Delhi Government. Currently, around 80,000 Group B non-gazetted and Group C employees are working with Delhi Government. A total of Rs 56,000 crores will be spent to provide this bonus," the Chief Minister stated.

The announcement by Delhi government comes just ahead of Diwali. "This is a month of festivals," Kejriwal said while making the announcement. "The bonus will multiply the joy in the homes of our employees and in their celebrations," the CM added.

"As a government, we have always strived to make the lives of our employees better, and these efforts shall continue," he further said.
