Delhi: Man Murdered For Making Instagram Reel With Girlfriend, Two Detained

An investigation into the brutal murder of a man identified as Raj Kumar revealed that he was killed by the relatives of his girlfriend as they were triggered after seeing an instagram reel shared a few months ago.

According to the police, Kumar eloped with the lady a few months ago, and during that time, they recorded a reel for Instagram and YouTube. After seeing the reel, Ashfaq, the woman's relative, was horrified and collaborated with Meraj to organise the murder.

The brutality committed against Kumar was described in the autopsy report. According to one officer, Kumar had been stabbed so many times that his intestines were sticking out of his body. The suspects had cut his throat in an effort to behead him. Unable to detach the head, they threw his corpse into a park before running away.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi, an inquiry was started on July 3 after his team got information about a man's body lying next to a park in the Inderlok neighbourhood.

The corpse appeared to be that of a man in his 20s or early 30s, however, neither a mobile nor a document were discovered on him. Raj Kumar, a native of Araria in Bihar state, was eventually identified as the dead. A surveillance video of the area also showed the movements of two suspects.

The police launched their information network and distributed the grabs to all boots on the ground. The two's identities were eventually made public by an informant. Ashfaq (22) and Miraj (30) from Zakhira were then detained by police.
