Delhi-Meerut Expressway Closed: Movement of heavy vehicles will be stopped on Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Meerut Road, and New Link Road from 10 pm tonight. Heavy vehicles will have to go to their destination using the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Heavy vehicles will also not be able to enter the city till July 25.
Meerut Road and GT Road will be made one-way from July 14, while from July 17, movement of vehicles on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and Meerut Road will be completely banned.
Diversion Plan For Heavy Vehicles
Heavy vehicles coming from the Delhi border (Loni Border, Tulsi Niketan, Seemapuri, Anand Vihar Border) will not be allowed to enter Ghaziabad city. Such vehicles will reach Dasna intersection via NH-9 via UP Gate via Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg (Road No. 56) in Delhi, then go towards their destination via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
Vehicles going from Baghpat towards Delhi will enter Delhi directly via Sonia Vihar. Entry of heavy vehicles from the Loni border towards Loni town will be prohibited. Vehicles coming from Hapur and Bulandshahr and going to Delhi will not be allowed to enter the city. These vehicles will have to go to Delhi using NH-9.
Entry of heavy vehicles will be banned from Santosh Medical Cut to New Link Road and Meerut Tiraha on NH-9. Movement of heavy vehicles going towards Indirapuram through Gaur Green Cut, Khoda, Kala Pathar Road, Noida Sector-62, Chhijarsi, and Kanawani culvert has been completely banned.
Operation of heavy vehicles will also be banned on the Ganga Canal Track, Kanwar Marg, Pipeline Marg, Meerut Road, and Delhi-Meerut Expressway. Vehicles coming from Kundli and Palwal from the Eastern Peripheral Expressway will not be able to get on Meerut Road from the Duhai exit.
Heavy vehicles will not be able to go from Hapur and Bhojpur towards Modinagar. Operation of all heavy vehicles will be completely banned from the Sahibabad Underpass to the GT Road.
No ban on transportation of essential goods. Vehicles transporting essential goods can be given separate permission, keeping in mind the number of Kanwariyas. The traffic system can be amended anytime as per requirement. In case of an emergency, the Delhi-Meerut Expressway can be used as an emergency route.
