Delhi Metro Expansion: In a major update for the commuters, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has completed two new corridors under the fourth phase. The authority stated that the construction on three new corridors is likely to begin soon, adding that the project will significantly boost regional connectivity. The new corridors will provide relief to the residents by cutting the travel time and reducing traffic congestion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new corridor and lay the foundation stone for upcoming projects on March 8.
Magenta Line To Boost Connectivity
The officials stated that the Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Marg Extension Project in Phase IV includes a 9.92-kilometer elevated corridor from Deepali Chowk (Pitampura) to Majlis Park. The stretch will pass through several stations, including Deepali Chowk, Madhuban Chowk, North Pitampura-Prashant Vihar, Haiderpur village, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Bhalswa, and Majlis Park.
Pink Line: Delhi's first ring metro
The DMRC stated that a new 12.31-kilometer corridor from Majlis Park to Maujpur has been completed. The Pink Line will become the country's first ring metro line, connecting several parts of Delhi in a circular network. The major stations along this corridor will be Majlis Park, Burari, Jharodha Majra, Jagatpur-Wazirabad, Surghat, Nanaksar, Sonia Vihar, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, and Maujpur-Babarpur.
The authority asserted that the corridor will boost the connectivity between Outer Delhi, Northeast Delhi, and East Delhi.

New Corridor To Connect Central Vista Region
The RK Ashram Marg-Indraprastha corridor on the Magenta Line will be approximately 9.9 kilometers long and will have nine stations, including RK Ashram Marg, Shivaji Stadium, Central Secretariat, Duty Building, Baroda House, India Gate, War Memorial-High Court, Bharat Mandapam, and Indraprastha. The corridor will pass through the Central Vista area and connect several government offices and key institutions to the metro network.
