All About Delhi Metro Pink Line

The Pink Line, which is the longest line of the Delhi Metro, was opened in five sections:

  • Section 1: The first phase, operating between Majlis Park-Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus, was opened in March 2018.

  • Sections 2, 3 and 4: The three phases opened by December 31 of that year. However, due to a land acquisition problem in Trilokpuri, the line ran in two separate corridors: Majlis Park-Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 and Shiv Vihar-Trilokpuri.

  • Section 5: After the matter was settled legally, the final phase connecting the Trilokpuri-Sanjay Lake to Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 was inaugurated on August 6, 2021.

  • Section 6: The sixth and final phase was inaugurated on September 17, 2025, which connected the Majlis Park to the Yamuna Vihar, making the Pink Line the longest.

Besides the Maujpur corridor, three other new corridors were approved last year as part of the Phase IV expansion: Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block (extension of the Golden Line), Inderlok to Indraprastha (extension of the Green Line), and Rithala-Narela-Kundli (extension of the Red Line). These three under-construction corridors will increase the number of interchange stations.

The DMRC in total is laying around 112km of new tracks as part of he fourth phase of its expansion of the metro services in the city.
