A video showing a fight between two passengers in the Delhi Metro has gone viral on social media, bringing renewed attention to the ongoing issues of misbehaviour on the metro. The video, which has been widely shared on X, caused "Delhi Metro" to trend on the platform on Saturday evening. In the footage, two young men are seen fighting and hurling abuses at each other, despite the relatively low crowd at that time.

In the viral video, two boys are seen standing in a metro, arguing with each other. They grab each other's collars and exchange insults, repeatedly calling each other "chapri." It all starts when one boy calls the other "chapri," to which the second boy responds by saying, "You look like a chapri yourself."

The first boy then boasts, "Where I get my haircut, people like you aren't even allowed in. People like you are kicked out at the gate. I get my haircut only from experts." The other boy retorts, "Not every expert is a salon expert, got it?" This angers the first boy, who pulls the other and challenges him to step outside. At that moment, another man stands up from his seat, warns the first boy and forces him off the metro.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been actively working to curb such incidents, claiming to impose fines on passengers who misbehave. Additionally, metro police have taken action by filing cases in several instances. However, these efforts have not been entirely effective in stopping such occurrences.

The Delhi Metro serves over 6 million passengers daily, leading to significant crowding, especially during peak hours. This high volume of commuters has contributed to a rise in altercations and other disruptive behaviour, with several old videos of similar incidents resurfacing and gaining traction on social media.
