Throughout the day, Delhi witnessed a generally cloudy sky, as was predicted by the national weather forecaster. Cycone Biparjoy, which had fallen from the 'very severe cyclonic storm' category to just 'severe' earlier today, is likely to reach Rajasthan late in the evening today. Some parts of the city also witnessed waterlogging after the rains.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of light-moderate to heavy rain in some places in the Gwalior-Chambal region in the northern parts of Madhya Pradesh due to the impact of cyclone Biparjoy.

The cyclone made landfall in coastal areas of Gujarat on Thursday evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had said. Earlier in the day, cyclone lay centred towards Sauarashtra-Kutch and it is expected to bring heavy rains in Rajasthan today.

However, till some time ago Ashfaq Hussain, Meteorologist with IMD Bhopal, had said that there were no effect of the Biparjoy cyclone in Madhya Pradesh.
