Delhi-NCR Weather: The weather service has warned of more storms and lightning strikes on Saturday and Sunday as well as in the upcoming week, a day after parts of Delhi-NCR saw an unexpected burst of thunderstorms, lightning, and rain that provided much-needed respite to the locals who had been withering under the intense heat.

The national capital's central, southern, and western regions, including Burari, Rohini, Badli, Model Town, Karawal Nagar, and many more, saw light to moderate rainfall on Friday evening, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds. Parts of Delhi and the surrounding areas also saw a brief but intense spell of rain.

The meteorological service forecasts that April 19 will see a high temperature of 38 degrees Celsius and a low temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, with thunderstorms and lightning continuing to hit Delhi-NCR.

The IMD forecasts overcast conditions with a high of 38 degrees Celsius and a low of 25 degrees on Sunday, April 20.

The forecast expects gloomy conditions through Monday, with a high of 39 degrees Celsius and a low of 25 degrees. This will provide much-needed respite for people as well as animals.

Strong winds are expected on April 22 in Delhi-NCR, according to the meteorological service. The lowest temperature will be 25 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature will not drop any lower than 39 degrees Celsius.

This break from the heatwave in the area will only last a short while since the highest temperature is expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius after April 23.
