With parts of Delhi-NCR receiving spells of rain early on Thursday morning, the rain has intensified in the region, affecting traffic movement and creating waterlogging issues. The trend of light spells of rain is expected to remain in place till the end of the current week. The national capital and neighbouring districts have been receiving intermittent spells of rain since last week.
Parts of the capital are experiencing waterlogging and traffic disruption due to heavy rainfall.

The weather department has expressed that weather conditions in Delhi can take a noticeable turn on Thursday and has elevated a yellow alert to a red alert for the day. Earlier, there was no weather alert from IMD in its forecast bulletin.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) elevated the 'yellow' alert to a 'red' warning for the day. Visuals from early morning showed steady rain drenching areas of the National Capital, Noida, and Gurugram. These fresh spells come just days after heavy downpours across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and other parts of the National Capital Region earlier this week.
Delhi-NCR Weather Today: Yellow Alert In Ghaziabad
As per the weather update released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) late on Wednesday, cloudy skies are expected to hang over Delhi with one or two spells of light rain and a higher probability of thundershower in the morning and forenoon.
The National Capital Region of NCR districts are also expected to experience similar weather to Delhi, while Ghaziabad is on a yellow alert for Thunderstorms and lightning on Thursday.
Cloudy skies and one or two spells of light rain are what Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad are expected to witness during the day.

Delhi-NCR Weather Forecast: When Will It Rain
- As per the weather forecast bulletin of the IMD, the weather conditions in the national capital and its neighbouring districts are expected to follow a similar weather pattern till August 17.
- According to IMD's weather forecast, Delhi and the NCR regions can expect light rain or showers on August 15, with clouds expected to remain throughout the day. Gurugram and Faridabad are places under a yellow alert on Friday, August 15, for the possibility of heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning.
- On August 16, Delhi and NCR can expect generally cloudy skies with light rain or showers possible during the morning or afternoon. Light rain may also be seen in the evening or at night. From August 17 to 19, some areas in Delhi and NCR may experience drizzle.
- Overall, the weather in Delhi and NCR is expected to remain humid throughout the week, with drizzle possible on most days. August 14 might see heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR, with scattered to moderate rain observed in many areas from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.
