Delhi Police Transfer List:  Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Friday ordered a significant restructuring within the Delhi Police. The Law & Order zones will now be overseen by new Special CPs, while Special CPs will also assume leadership roles in the Crime, Traffic, Special Cell, and Security divisions. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) level officers were also reshuffled.

In light of the recent emerging threats like the parliament security breach and the second consecutive attack outside the Israel embassy, the order has come as a major shift in power for these IPS rank officials.

The transfer orders were passed for 27 officers which includes 25 Indian Police Service officers and 2 DANIPS officers. IPS Dependra Pathak has been transferred from the Special CP/Law & Order (Zone-1) Division to Special CP Security. Whereas, 1991 batch officer Sh. Rajender Pal Upadhyay, IPS, was relieved from multiple duties and given charge as Special CP of the Special Cell.

Last year during the Parliament Winter session, two people--Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D--jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour, released yellow gas from canisters and shouted anti-establishment slogans before being overpowered by the MPs.

Outside it, in another incident, two protestors -- Neelam (42) and Amol (25) -- protested outside the Parliament with similar gas canisters.

On the last day of 2023, Delhi Police received a call that a 'blast' was heard near the Israeli Embassy in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave, but officials said that nothing as such was found at the spot of the incident.
