A significant security scare gripped the national capital on Monday morning after two prominent University institutions Ramjas College and Miranda House received alarming bomb threats via E-mail. The threats sent to the offical addresses of college pincipals at around 8:17 am, let to immidiate panic and swift evecuation of students, faculty and staffs from both campus.

Details Of Threat E-mail

The threatening communication claimed that 13 explosive devices filled with toxic gases had been planted across the premises. The sender warned that these devices were set to detonate later in the day, specifically around 12:30 pm to 12:50 pm. While the primary text of the email was reportedly vague, the subject line contained a direct and explicit warning regarding the potential explosions, prompting the college administrations to alert the authorities instantly.

Emergency Response And Search Operations

Upon receiving the information, Delhi Police and specialised security agencies rushed to the North Campus. Bomb Disposal Teams (BDT) and dog squads were deployed to conduct a comprehensive sweep of both colleges. As a precautionary measure, the buildings were cleared entirely to allow experts to search for any suspicious objects or improvised explosive devices.

Current Status Of Investigation

As of the latest reports, the extensive search operations are ongoing, and security personnel are meticulously inspecting every corner of the campuses. While no suspicious items have been confirmed or recovered so far, the police have maintained a high state of alert. Investigators are currently working to trace the origin of the electronic communication to identify the individual or group responsible for the hoax.
