Delhi Thunderstorm: A strong thunderstorm with light rain hit Delhi-NCR on Saturday afternoon, bringing a much-needed relief from the scorching heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) earlier in the day had predicted storms for the weekend and issued a yellow alert for Delhi and the adjoining cities of Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram.
The weather was slightly better on Saturday morning with Delhiites witnessing a cloudy sky. However, excessive heat returned in the afternoon with the maximum temperature reaching above 42 degrees Celsius. The weather department, meanwhile, also predicted that another thunderstorm with light to moderate rain and lightning is very likely to happen across all of Delhi and NCR in the next two hours.

Delhi-NCR Five Day Weather Forecast
May 17, 2025:
Temperatures will range between 24.3 degrees Celsius and 43 degrees Celsius, with winds from the west and northwest at 15–25 kmph. No heat wave condition is expected. The sky will be partly cloudy with possible light rain or thunderstorms by evening.
May 18, 2025:
Maximum temperatures will stay around 40–42 degrees Celsius with warmer nights at 26–28 degrees Celsius. Winds will blow from the northwest and west at 20–25 kmph. Expect partly cloudy skies and scattered thunderstorms with gusts up to 50 kmph.

May 19, 2025:
Temperatures will range from 27 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius with moderate winds between 10–25 kmph. The weather will remain partly cloudy throughout the day. There is a chance of light rain, thunderstorms, and brief dust-raising gusty winds.
May 20, 2025:
Daytime highs will be around 38–40 degrees Celsius and lows near 27–29 degrees Celsius. Winds from the north-northwest and west will stay within 15–20 kmph. Partly cloudy skies may lead to light rain and occasional thunderstorms in the evening.
May 21, 2025:
A slightly cooler day is expected with highs of 37–39 degrees Celsius and lows around 26–28 degrees Celsius. Winds will be lighter at 5–15 kmph, mostly from the west and northwest. Partly cloudy skies may bring light rain or thunderstorms, with gusty winds in the afternoon.
