Delhi Weather Forecast: Cold conditions have swept across Delhi with an alert for dense fog and cloudy skies today. The deteriorating air, which has plunged back to severe levels after a temporary is adding to the weather challenges of residents. The national capital, Delhi, is expected to experience cloudy weather conditions for the next two days.

Delhi Weather Today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for cloudy skies and moderate to dense fog at many places in the morning hours today. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 21 to 23 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to hit 6 to 8 degrees Celsius, contributing to sharper chills.

Delhi Weather Forecast: Cosy Winters Ahead

The weather conditions in the city on Monday will experience a slight change, potentially reducing the harshness of the chill with an increase in the minimum temperature. Partly cloudy skies with shallow to moderate fog in the morning hours is likely to persist for the upcoming few days.

 

The new year is expected to bring respite from the bitter cold as the minimum temperature is expected to rise by 3 degrees Celsius; however, delhites will have to wait for clear skies. The IMD has anticipated partly cloudy skies and shallow to moderate fog in the early morning hours. The minimum temperature on New Year's Day is expected to range between 9-11 degrees Celsius.

Note, as per a disclaimer by IMD, the accuracy of the forecast decreases with an increase in the lead period; hence, there is an expectation that the weather toward the end of next week can shift.

Delhi Continues To Breath Toxic Air

Delhi's air quality has once again plunged into the 'severe' category, following a brief improvement. On Saturday, pollution levels surged, bringing the city's average Air Quality Index (AQI) to a concerning 390, just short of the 'severe' threshold. At 4 pm, the city's 24-hour average AQI stood at 385, categorised as 'very poor', on Saturday.
