The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in Delhi as the National Capital continues to reel under severe cold. There is a possibility of western disturbances affecting the region on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing the chance of light rainfall.

On Sunday, the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 17.3°C, which is 2.6°C lower than normal. The minimum temperature was 9.0°C, which is 1.6°C higher than normal. The humidity level in the air ranged from 100 per cent to 78 per cent.

The lowest maximum temperature was 15.2°C, recorded at Pusa, while the lowest minimum temperature was 7.9°C, recorded at Aya Nagar.

From 8:30 am on Saturday to 8:30 am on Sunday, 2.2 mm of rainfall was recorded in Delhi. In Palam, the figure was 3.4 mm, in Lodhi Road it was 2.0 mm, at Ridge it was 1.7 mm, in Ayanagar it was 2.5 mm, in Najafgarh it was 5.5 mm, in Pitampura it was 2.0 mm, in Pusa it was 2.5 mm and at Rajghat it was 1.3 mm.

As of Monday, smog and moderate fog were witnessed in some places. Dense fog enveloped many parts of the national capital, as forecasted by the weather department. The same situation will remain in the evening and night also.

The day will be partly cloudy. The maximum and minimum temperatures can be 19 and seven degrees Celsius respectively.
