Delhi-NCR Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rain in the Delhi-NCR region for Thursday, September 4. As per the forecast, Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad are likely to witness light rain and thunderstorms and hence are put on a yellow alert. Meanwhile, the weather body has issued an orange alert for Gurugram, indicating moderate rain activity. At 9 pm on Wednesday, the Yamuna reached 207.41 metres as the river continued to swell. This is also the third highest ever recorded water level for the river. Yamuna crossed the 207 metre mark in 2023 (208.66m), 2013 (207.32m), 2010 (207.11m), and 1978 (207.49m).
On Thursday, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are likely to hover around 33 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
According IMD, the heavy rain activity over North India states including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and the Western Himalayan region is likely to decrease from Thursday onwards. As per the weather body, the showers are once again expected to pick up pace post September 7.

The Delhi airport has not issued any notice for flight disruptions yet, however, the SpiceJet airline issued an advisory for its passengers.
"Due to bad weather in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may be affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status,” SpiceJet posted on X.

On Wednesday, light to heavy rains continued for the third consecutive day in Delhi. The sky remained cloudy throughout the day. According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of rain for three to four more days.

According to data received from the Meteorological Department, 15.2 mm of rain was recorded in the capital from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on Wednesday. The highest rainfall of 59.6 mm was recorded at Ridge and 54.8 mm at Ayanagar.
Due to the rain, the maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 32.3 degrees Celsius, 1.8 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 22.8 degrees Celsius, 2.8 degrees below normal. The humidity level in the air was 100 to 74 per cent.

Isolated heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Uttarakhand from September 3-9; Haryana, Chandigarh on September 4 and 9; West Uttar Pradesh on September 3; West Rajasthan on September 5 and 8; East Rajasthan on September 6 with isolated very heavy rainfall very likely over Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh on September 3; East Rajasthan from September 3-5; West Rajasthan on September 6 and 7. Light/moderate rainfall is expected at most/many places over the region during the next 7 days, IMD stated in its bulletin on Wednesday.
