Delhi Weather Update:  The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted rain accompanied by thunderstorms on Saturday. According to the latest forecast by IMD on Friday, the weather department said that the national capital and adjacent cities such as Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad are expected to witness light to moderate rainfall with one or two spells of heavy rainfall during the day.

Delhi and adjacent areas have been witnessing incessant rainfall over the past few days. Heavy downpour has caused the Yamuna River to breach its danger mark and lead to waterlogging and a flood-like situation in the national capital. As a precautionary measure, the Delhi Traffic Police closed the Loha Pul for traffic movement.

Delhi Weather Forecast: Rain Likely To Lash Parts Of National Capital

The MeT department has forecast rain and thunderstorms for several parts of the national capital on Saturday. However, no alert in place for Saturday. According to the forecast, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 34 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

According to IMD data, Delhi on Friday recorded a maximum temperature of 33.2 degrees Celsius, 0.9 degrees below normal, while the minute temperature stood at 24 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees below the seasonal average. The humidity levels were recorded at 87 per cent in the morning and 78 per cent in the evening.

In the last 24 hours, Safdarjung logged 7.6 mm, Palam 13.3 mm, Lodhi Road 3.2 mm, Ridge 5.2 mm, while Aya Nagar did not record any rainfall, news agency PTI reported.

Delhi Air Quality Remains In ‘Satisfactory’ Category

Following spells of heavy rain, Delhi's air quality index (AQI) stood in the ‘satisfactory’ category. According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, an AQI of 67 was recorded at 4 PM on Friday.
