Delhiites woke up to another cold and slightly foggy morning on Sunday as the minimum temperature was recorded at 6 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the national; capital will be witnessing foggy weather conditions in the next seven days.

In a video shared by news agency ANI, people in the national capital were seen sitting around a bonfire at 4 am to keep themselves warm amid chilly weather conditions.

Several Trains, Flights Delayed
As many as 11 trains to Delhi from several parts of the country were running late due to dense fog conditions. The early morning foggy weather conditions have affected the movement of rail, road, and traffic over the past few days.

Meanwhile, several flights at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport remained affected and few were cancelled amid dense fog conditions across several parts of the country. In a video shared by ANI, passengers could be seen awaiting the movement of their scheduled flights.

Check IMD Forecast
The MeT department has predicted that dense fog conditions are expected in the national capital on January 22 and January 23. According to IMD’s latest bulletin, cold-day to severe cold-day conditions are likely to continue to prevail over North India during the next 2 days and decrease in intensity thereafter.
Earlier, the weather department also issued an ‘orange alert’ for dense fog for the national capital and its surrounding areas. Earlier on Saturday, Delhi reportedly recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season’s average.
