Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Mishap: In a shocking incident, a pillar of the under-construction Delhi-Dehradun Expressway collapsed in Saharanpur on Sunday, the officials said.

As per Saharanpur police of Deoband circle, the tragic incident took place near Mora village of Badgaon police station in the district.

Providing details about the incident, Rampur Maniharan SDM Shweta Pandey said that soon after getting the information, the police administration reached the spot.

Talking about the casualties, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said that two workers were injured in the accident.

The injured were rushed to the hospital where they were receiving the treatment. THe NHAI also clarified that any other news shared on social media is incorrect.

Meanwhile, SDM Pandey said "Police and administration reached the spot after receiving information. According to NHAI officials, two workers have been injured and admitted to the hospital. The news being spread on social media is not true. The situation is normal."

This mishappening took place when a concrete girder was being shifted with the help of a machine, and it fell. In this accident, two labourers got injured in their legs. One of them suffered a fracture in his leg.

NHAI Project Director Narendra Singh said, "This accident happened during the construction of a flyover on the Deoband Canal under the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor Project. The canal has been closed for 15 days from March 13, the girder launch was fixed on March 23."
