Delhi AQI: Delhi's air quality remained in the 'Poor' category on Saturday for the second consecutive day as the Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital was recorded at 245 at 8 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The residents of the national capital and the nearby cities witnessed a thick layer of smog in the early hours of the day, leading to poor visibility. The air quality of Delhi improved significantly on Friday after being in the 'very poor' category for several days post-Diwali. While the AQI was recorded at 268 on Friday, the AQI on Thursday was recorded at 373, leading to visibility and minor health issues.

While providing details, the authority stated that the AQI in the several regions of the national capital remained between the 'moderate' and 'poor' categories. It stated that Wazirpur remained the most polluted area, with a reading of 323, which falls in the 'very poor' category. It further stated that the AQI remained moderate in several regions, including Pusa (185), Lodhi Road (177), IGI Airport T3 (175), Mathura Road (158) and Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range (197).

Apart from this, the AQI was recorded at 285 in Anand Vihar, 256 in Punjabi Bagh, 294 in Bawana, 282 in Ashok Vihar, and 284 in RK Puram. The CPCB states that an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51-100 satisfactory, 101-200 moderate, 201-300 poor, 301-400 very poor, and 401-500 severe.
