Karnataka CM Post Row: Amid speculations about a possible change in Karnataka's leadership, Congress Ramanagara MLA Iqbal Hussain made a big claim by saying that he is 200% sure that his leaderDeputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will replace CM Siddaramaiah.

"I always stand by that statement... 200 per cent, he (Shivakumar) will become the CM soon. The high command will decide. As our leader (Shivakumar) said, the transfer of power is a secret deal among five to six party leaders, and those five to six people will decide," he claimed while speaking to news agency PTI.

Another MLA, KM Uday said legislators also requested the high command to give opportunities to fresh faces and youngsters during the cabinet reshuffle and had received indications that this would be considered.

On the demand for Shivakumar to become Chief Minister, he said the party leadership will decide, and everyone will abide by it.

While some MLAs said they requested the high command to end the confusion over the chief minister issue at the earliest, others said they also sought opportunities for youngsters or fresh faces during the proposed cabinet reshuffle.

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Reacts To Issue

On the other side, Siddaramaiah asserted that he, along with Shivakumar, will accept and act according to the decision of the Congress high command.

Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah said, "DK Shivakumar and I should abide by the decision of the party high command. Whatever the high command decides, DK Shivakumar and I should agree. We will act according to the decision of the party high command."

He recalled meeting with the high command five years ago and the discussion about the cabinet reshuffle.

"When the high command met five months ago, they had instructed a reshuffle of the cabinet. I had told them that we would do it after completing two and a half years. Now, we will act according to whatever instructions are given," he added.

His remarks come amid growing speculation about a change in the Chief Ministerial face of Karnataka, fueled by the "power-sharing agreement" of 2023 between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, which has been cited frequently in political circles.

Meanwhile, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday asserted that the high command will decide on the issue of a change in the Chief Ministerial face.

"I have nothing to say," Kharge said while addressing reporters outside his residence here. "You have been standing here continuously for three days. There is nothing to say about the developments happening here. Whatever happens, the high command will do it. It is not required to worry too much about it," he added.
