Fact Check: On various social media platforms, Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, is seen working on a computer with a blank screen. It is being claimed that, despite being the son of Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister and the state's Deputy Chief Minister, Udhayanidhi Stalin does not know how to operate a computer.

Vishvas News investigated and found this claim to be fake. The viral video is AI-created. The original video, of Udhayanidhi Stalin's visit to the Greater Chennai Corporation Command and Control Centre, has been manipulated using AI and is being circulated with a false claim.

What is viral?

Social media user '@wokeflix' shared the viral video and wrote, "40 years of his Grandfather "40 years of his Grandfather 20 years of his Father Still, he can’t figure out how to switch on a computer."

Many other users on different social media platforms have shared this video with the same claim.

Investigation

In the viral video, Udhayanidhi is seen operating a computer with a blank screen. To trace the source of the video, we performed a reverse image search. We found a video from October 28, 2025, posted on the official X handle of the news agency ANI, which appears to show Udhayanidhi Stalin's inspection visit to the Greater Chennai Corporation Command and Control Center, where he inspected real-time CCTV footage.

Udhayanidhi shared these pictures from this visit on his official X handle, in which the screen is seen with him on, not off, as claimed in the viral video.

In the video, he can be clearly seen with an active computer screen in the presence of local staff. Watching this video, it becomes clear that the viral video is edited.

A closer look at the viral video reveals several unusual inconsistencies, raising suspicions that it may be AI-generated. Therefore, we tested the video using the University of Buffalo's DeepFake-O-Meter, and almost all of its indicators confirmed a high probability of AI manipulation.

The AVSRDD (2025) detector confirms 100%, AltFreezing (2023) nearly 100%, FTCN (2021) nearly 100%, LSDA (2024) nearly 80%, TALL (2023) 100%, and WAV2LIP-STA (2022) almost 80 per cent of AI manipulations.

InVid Tool's Meower Deepfake Video Detector also confirms the possibility of AI manipulation in this video.

We contacted Abhijeet Parashar, an expert in AI and machine learning, regarding the viral video, and he confirmed the possibility of AI manipulation in the video.

The user who shared the viral video, X, has over 125,000 followers on X.

Fact-check reports of other major deepfake multimedia viral on social media can be read in the AI Check section of Vishvas News.

Conclusion: The viral video of Udhayanidhi Stalin inspecting a computer screen without powering it on is a deepfake created with the help of AI.
