Fact Check: A viral social media post claims that the dates for the Bihar Assembly elections have been announced. It states that the first phase of voting will be on October 24, 2025, the final phase on November 20, 2025, and the results will be declared on November 24, 2025.
Vishvas News investigated the viral post and found it to be fake. No announcement regarding the dates for the Bihar elections has been made by the Election Commission yet.
What's Going Viral?
A Facebook user named Vishal Kumar claimed in a post on September 15, 2025, stating, "The dates for the Bihar Assembly elections have been announced. The first phase of voting will be held on October 21, 2025, and the last phase on November 20, 2025, with the election results declared on November 24, 2025."

Investigation
To verify the viral claim, we first used the Google Open Search tool and found no credible news that could corroborate the viral claim.
According to a report on Jansatta.com, elections for 243 seats in Bihar are likely to be held in October and November. The 2020 elections were also held in these months. This report was published on September 15, 2025.
Arun Ashish, State Bureau Chief of Dainik Jagran, Bihar, told Vishvas News that the viral post is fake. He also clarified that no official election dates have been announced yet.
Lastly, we scanned the Facebook account of the user ‘Vishal Kumar’, who posted the fake claim and found that the user identifies as a resident of Bihar and has over 6000 followers.
Conclusion: The viral claim about the Bihar election dates is false. The Election Commission has not yet announced any schedule for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections
