Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off nine Vande Bharat trains, including two services on the South Central Railways (SCR) on Sunday via video conferencing. The nine trains will provide faster connectivity across 11 states -- Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gujarat. As per the official statement, the Vande Bharat train service between the Kacheguda-Yesvantpur will be the fastest train between the two cities with the least journey time, when compared with other trains in this route. It has a seating capacity of 530 passengers.

West Bengal will also get two more Vande Bharat train services between the Patna-Howrah and Ranchi-Howrah routes and the twin cities of Howrah-Kolkata. The new rakes for the Patna-Howrah and Ranchi-Howrah routes will have 25 added features, the train will cover a distance of 535 km in approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes, making it the fastest direct rail connection between Patna and Kolkata.

The first Vande Bharat Express was flagged off on February 15, 2019, by the Prime Minister, running between New Delhi and Varanasi.  So far, there are a total of 25 operational routes of the Vande Bharat Express in the country. Four of these are in the Northern Zone, 3 in Southern and Central Zones, 2 in Western, West Central and North Western Railway Zones and 1 in South East Central, East Central, South Western and North Eastern Railway. Now, with the inclusion of these 9 new routes, the count will increase to 34 routes, neatly spread across the nation.
