The government has approved a budget of Rs 92 crore for the construction of a cloverleaf interchange on the elevated road in the Trans-Hindon area. Work on the project is expected to begin soon. Once completed, the new interchanges will significantly ease commuting for millions of people travelling from Trans-Hindon areas, including Ghaziabad, to Delhi. At present, commuters using the elevated road have to travel several kilometres up to Rajnagar Extension to access the route, leading to longer travel times and congestion.
"The government has approved an estimate of Rs 92 crore for the construction of a cloverleaf on the elevated road. Work on it will begin soon. This will greatly benefit the people of the Trans-Hindon region. They will be relieved of traffic jams," said Ajay Kumar Mittal, Superintending Engineer, as quoted by jagran.com.
Travelling from Delhi to Trans-Hindon requires a 10-kilometre journey via Rajnagar Extension. The construction of the cloverleaf will not only save several kilometres of detour, but also save time and fuel.
Connecting Points
People in the Trans-Hindon region will be able to travel directly to Delhi via the elevated road from the elevated exit in Indirapuram. This will benefit the residents of Trans-Hindon. Meanwhile, those arriving in the city via the elevated road from Delhi will be able to disembark at the elevated exit in Vasundhara.
The cloverleaf interchange will be built alongside the bridge to connect it to the elevated road. The elevated road will be accessed from the Indirapuram Kanawani culvert, and the descending cloverleaf will be constructed near the proposed AIIMS Satellite Center in Vasundhara Sector 7.
After the construction, people coming to the city from Delhi via the elevated road will be able to get down at Vasundhara Sector 7.
Relief From Traffic At UP Gate
Until now, people travelling from UP Gate to Trans Hindon, Siddharth Vihar, and Pratap Vihar faced traffic jams.
Once the cloverleaf is completed, passengers will be able to board the elevated road from Indirapuram to Delhi and then disembark at Vasundhara Sector 7.
Housing Development Commissioner Dr Balkar Singh had asked for a proposal to be made regarding the construction of a cloverleaf on the elevated road. Subsequently, the Housing and Development Council prepared a proposal. The proposal was sent to the government, and only after this, the State Finance Committee approved an estimate of Rs 92 crore.
