Noida Traffic Jam: During the widening of NH-9, NHAI broke the drains built on both sides of the highway in Ghaziabad. The Municipal Corporation had sent letters to NHAI several times to construct drains on both sides of the highway, but the drains have not been constructed yet, and as a result, the highway was flooded during the rain on Thursday morning, reports jagran.com.

Due to a lack of drainage, drivers had to face problems. It took people one and a half to two hours to cover a five-minute journey, which resulted in more fuel consumption for their vehicles and a waste of time.

According to the report, more than one feet of water was filled on the road towards Kavi Nagar. In such a situation, drivers passing through the area are facing a lot of problems.

The reason for the lack of drainage is that the drains that were broken during the widening of NH-9 have not been rebuilt. There was also a problem of waterlogging near Bagu and Tigri roundabouts in Vijay Nagar. Besides, there was a jam of one and a half to two kilometers in the morning.

The drivers going towards Noida and Delhi had to face trouble. When the local people raised the problem of the absence of drain construction several times, the Municipal Corporation said that the reason for the absence of water drainage here is the absence of construction work on the drain broken by NHAI.

Even after the corporation drained the water through the pump set, there was a jam from Vijayanagar to Harnandi Bridge. The reason for this is a collision between a truck and a car driver on the service road.

The car driver called the police, and an attempt was made by the cops to settle the matter there instead of removing both vehicles. Both the vehicles remained standing on the road, and people kept struggling with the jam.

At the same time, on NH-9, the car stopped due to the battery of a car breaking down, which caused a jam. The jam situation persists due to heavy vehicles turning to go towards Greater Noida near Chhijarsi Cut.
