Goa Club Fire: A Delhi court on Wednesday refused immediate relief to the Luthra brothers, Saurav and Gaurav Luthra, the owners of the club that caught fire on Monday night, claiming 25 lives. The court stated that it will hear the matter on Thursday and has sought a response from the Goa government on the anticipatory bail plea. While denying any immediate relief, the Rohini Court also pointed out that the applicant was not physically present within its jurisdiction.
Senior Advocate Siddharth Luthra, appearing for the Luthra brothers, stated that the brothers sought an anticipatory bail to cooperate with the authorities, adding that the court has the right to provide the relief. The lawyer also pointed out that one of the accused, Saurav Luthra, has been suffering from epilepsy and hypertension. He also emphasised that the accused are not the owners of the club, but they have been operating with valid permissions.

“The issue of their appeal is simple. I am seeking the liberty to return to this country and approach the court in Goa," Luthra told the court. “Those who were unconscious due to suffocation in the fire have died. But they, too, are victims. I am also concerned and hurt by this incident," he added.
Luthra also stated that the state counsel should not oppose the plea, as the accused have agreed to participate in the legal process. “How can the State counsel oppose this, when we want to come and participate in the legal process ourselves?" the senior lawyer asserted.

An Interpol Blue Corner Notice has been issued against the Luthra brothers, who fled to Phuket in Thailand following the tragedy. At least 25 people, including tourists and club staffers, died in the incident on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has ordered a detailed probe into the matter.
