Gujarat Earthquakes: Multiple earthquakes were felt across Jetpur, Dhoraji, Upleta and nearby areas of Gujarat’s Rajkot district on Friday morning. Residents felt a series of tremors in quick succession, with as many as seven earthquakes striking one after another, triggering widespread panic and forcing people out of their homes.

According to data from the Institute of Seismological Research (ISR), the strongest tremor, with a magnitude of 3.8, was felt at 6:19 am on Friday, followed by a total of seven tremors by 8:34 am.

Epicenter And Depth Of Earthquake

According to the ISR report, the epicenters of all these earthquakes were primarily located 27 to 30 kilometres east-northeast (ENE) from Upleta. The earthquake depths ranged from 6.1 kilometres to 13.6 kilometres. On Thursaday night, a magnitude 3.3 earthquake was felt in the same area at 8:43 pm.

The repeated tremors forced residents of rural areas in Jetpur, Dhoraji and Upleta to rush out of their homes, taking shelter on streets and in open fields as a precaution. Despite the panic, no loss of life or damage to property has been reported so far. Local authorities remain on alert and are monitoring the situation.
