The attack in Baramulla came hours after terrorists shot and injured a migrant labourer in J-K's Pulwama district. The victim was identified as Pritam Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. The attack took place in Pulwama's Batgund Tral area.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Thursday asserted that terrorists have been trying to damage peace in J-K since the formation of the new government in the Union Territory under Omar Abdullah.
"Terrorists have tried to damage the atmosphere in J&K after the formation of Government. They want to give a message and that is why the last two attacks occurred and a third attack happened today... Security forces have taken cognisance of this and I think they will be neutralised soon," he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
"To ensure that the atmosphere of J&K does not get affected, Centre and state should work well and efforts have to be made to ensure that this does not happen again," he added.
