According to the CCTV footage, when five to six delivery agents were waiting at a pick-up point in Sector 93, a black Scorpio hit the parked motorcycle belonging to a rider identified as Tinku and rushed away from there.
Moments later, the Scorpio SUV circled back and deliberately swerved toward the group in an attempt to run them over. According to the CCTV footage, the vehicle struck the same motorcycle once again before speeding away from the scene.
After Scorpio repeatedly struck the vehicle, Tinku confronted the driver, saying, “What are you doing, brother?" The confrontation reportedly angered the driver, identified as Dr Naveen Yadav, who turned his vehicle and ran over Tinku multiple times as he stood near the eatery pickup point, before fleeing the spot.
Swiggy Delivery Rider Sustains Severe Injuries
Several other delivery riders narrowly escaped being hit by the SUV. Tinku suffered serious injuries to his head, chest, and legs. A video captured by another delivery executive clearly shows the Scorpio charging toward Tinku, then reversing, and coming forward again to run over him.
After getting an alert, the police reached the spot. Tinku was first rushed to the Civil Hospital in Gurugram. Due to the severity of his injuries, his family later shifted him to a hospital in Rewari.
While the further investigation is underway, the involved Scorpio has been seized. According to the police, the vehicle is registered in Dr Naveen Yadav’s name, and he was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.
