An 18-year-old boy from Madhya Pradesh has been recognised by the Guinness World Records for having the hairiest face on a male. According to Guinness World Records, the teen’s face is covered with 201.72 hairs per square centimeter.

Identified as Lalit Patidar, the teen has a rare condition called hypertrichosis, often referred to as a ‘werewolf syndrome’ making his face covered with over 95 per cent hair. Patidar's journey has been marked by challenges, particularly during his early school years when classmates were initially apprehensive about his appearance.

"They were scared of me but when they started knowing me and talking to me they understood I was not so different from them, and it was just on the outside that I looked different, but I’m not different inside," Guinness World Record quoted Lalit Patidar as saying.

In February 2025, Patidar traveled to Milan, Italy, where his facial hair was measured on the television show "Lo Show dei Record," officially earning him the Guinness World Record title.

“I am speechless, I don’t know what to say because I’m very happy to get this recognition. There is not much to say to people who want me to shave my facial hair. I tell them that I like how I am and I don’t want to change my look," Patidar said.

Hypertrichosis is an exceptionally rare condition, with only around 50 documented cases reported worldwide since the Middle Ages. It leads to excessive hair growth in areas where hair is typically minimal or absent.
