The Haryana government has invited applications from farmers in the state for solar panel connections in their fields, offering a 75 per cent subsidy on 3 HP, 7.5 HP and 10 HP solar energy pumps under the Haryana Renewable Energy Department. Farmers can avail the benefits of this scheme by applying on the Haryana.gov.in portal by April 21.
Mahendragarh Additional Deputy Commissioner Anand Kumar Sharma stated that priority will be given to current applicants for electricity-based connections from DHBVN for solar energy pump connections, provided they surrender their existing electricity connection.

He mentioned that farmers who applied for electricity-based agricultural tube wells of 1 HP to 10 HP from 2019 to 2023 will be given priority for solar pump connections under the PM Kusum Scheme.
He further explained that farmers who applied between February 20, 2024, and March 5, 2024, and between July 11, 2024, and July 25, 2024, need not reapply. They should deposit their beneficiary share as per the challan received with their previous application. If anyone has made multiple applications, only the first application will be considered valid.
The company will conduct a survey on the farmer's field for the installation of solar pumps. During the survey, farmers should carefully select the head of their pump and sign the survey form. There are three types of heads for a pump, with varying water discharge based on the head selected. If the farmer changes the pump head after installation, they will bear the cost themselves.
The pump comes with a 5-year warranty. Any tampering with the pump is strictly prohibited; in such cases, the warranty will be voided. If the farmer moves, sells, or misuses the pump, they will have to return the subsidy amount provided by the government, and strict action will be taken against them, including filing an FIR.
This year, the selection of beneficiaries will be based on the family’s annual income and landholding. Farmers from the Nangal Choudhary, Nizampur and Narnaul blocks, who are already using diesel pump sets or generator sets for farming and utilising micro-irrigation systems like drip, sprinkler irrigation, and underground pipelines will be eligible for installing solar pumps.
