Jagran Correspondent, Karnal: The Haryana government has approved a proposal for the recruitment of 4,000 constables, with the recruitment drive scheduled to begin in November. The decision comes after several applicants were unable to participate in the earlier recruitment drive for 5,500 constable posts.

According to Haryana DGP Ajay Singhal, the police recruitment process is progressing steadily. Last year, 1,600 women were recruited as part of the 5,500 vacancies. The ongoing recruitment for another 5,500 posts is being conducted through the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC). Following this, recruitment for an additional 4,000 constables will be launched in November, with 20 per cent reservation for Agniveers.

'Abhedya' app to tackle ransom and extortion calls

Crackdown on drug abuse

Highlighting the state's anti-drug campaign, the DGP said 150 people have been jailed under the NDPS Act, while the illegal properties of 47 accused have been attached. Illegal constructions linked to accused persons have also been demolished.

He said the Haryana Police are taking action at every level to curb drug abuse and will intensify the crackdown further in the coming days.
