The exit poll results for the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 have been released, and they indicate a continued decline of the Congress party in the national capital. Once a formidable force in Delhi, having ruled from 1998 to 2013, Congress has seen a dramatic fall. In the 2015 and 2020 assembly elections, the grand old party failed to win a single seat, and the 2025 exit polls predict a similar outcome.
With estimates showing the party securing zero to only two seats, it’s clear that Congress's struggle to connect with Delhi's voters continues. However, the exit polls often get it wrong and they are not necessarily accurate.
Most exit polls have predicted a significant victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Delhi election, with a major setback for Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
According to the People's Pulse exit poll, the BJP is expected to secure a decisive win, with 51-60 seats, while AAP could win between 10-19 seats. The Congress, as per this poll, is predicted to fail to secure any seats.
Meanwhile, Chanakya Strategies' exit poll projected a slightly narrower win for the BJP, estimating 39-44 seats. AAP is expected to win between 25 and 28 seats, with Congress forecasted to secure a mere three seats, the highest prediction among the polls.
The JVC exit poll forecasted that the BJP would secure between 39 and 45 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party was predicted to win between 22 and 31 seats. The Congress party was anticipated to win no more than 2 seats, with a possible range of 0 to 2.
Matrize is the only exit poll predicting a close contest, with the BJP expected to secure 35-40 seats, while the AAP is forecasted to win 32-37 seats. The Congress is anticipated to bag just 0-1 seats, according to this poll.
In the 2015 Delhi Assembly Election, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Arvind Kejriwal, achieved an overwhelming victory, securing 67 out of 70 seats, while the BJP managed to win only three seats. The Congress party failed to win a single seat.
In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP continued its strong performance, clinching 62 seats. The BJP made some gains, improving its tally to 8 seats. And the Congress party continued to show poor performance without opening its account.
And the majority of exit polls for the 2025 Assembly Election show that the Congress may repeat its lacklustre performance, securing a hat-trick of disappointing results by failing to win a single seat once again.
