Himachal Cabinet Expansion: In a bid to expand the one-year-old cabinet, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu welcomed two more ministers - Rajesh Dharmani and Yadvinder Goma - into the government on Tuesday. The Governor of the Himalayan state, Shiv Pratap Shukla administered the oath of office to the newly inducted ministers at a ceremony at the Raj Bhawan.
Two New Faces In 'Sukkhu' Cabinet
Rajesh Dharmani, a 51-year-old Congress leader has been representing the Ghumarwin constituency in the Bilaspur district for the last three times, whereas, Yadvinder Goma, is a two-time MLA from the Jaisinghpur Assembly segment in Palampur sub-division of Kangra. After the induction of two new faces, the strength of the cabinet has increased to 11.

Yadavendra Goma, a 36-year-old Congress leader, was born on February 4, 1986, in Palampur, Kangra. He holds educational qualifications including a B.Tech and MBA from Baddi in Solan district. Married to Neelam Goma and blessed with a daughter, Goma served as the local-level president of the Youth Congress from 2010 to 2015. His political journey began in 2012 when he contested and won his first election, faced defeat in 2017, and then secured victory again in the 2022 elections. Now, as a second-term MLA, Goma is set to join the cabinet. According to News18, Goma received a call from the Chief Minister last evening.
Earlier, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday asserted that all the guarantees made by the party will be systematically fulfilled in the next four years after the Congress party completed one year of governance in the hill state.
"Our first guarantee was to give the old pension scheme to government employees; we did it in the first cabinet; the second guarantee was the start-up yojana; we started a start-up scheme of Rs 680 crore; the third guarantee was to start the English-medium schools, we did that too; systematically, we will complete all the guarantees in the next four years," he said while interacting with the media.
