AS THE festival of colours is around the corner, the Indian Railways has decided to operate special trains in order to accommodate increased passenger traffic. The decision was taken to avoid the rush on the occasion of Holi which will be celebrated on March 8, as thousands of people will travel around the country to be with their family and friend on this day. 

These special trains will be operated in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and several other states. The Indian Railways has also started taking bookings for these special trains.

How To Book Holi Special Trains

Passengers can book tickets for the special trains on the official website of the Indian Railways or with the help of authorized travel agents. It is recommended that travellers book their tickets in advance to avoid traffic during the Holi celebration. How To Book Tatkal Ticket

- Create an account on the IRCTC website or mobile app.

- Next click on "Plan my journey" and select the date, train and class of ticket.

- Choose the quota as soon as you see the train list.

- Check the seat after choosing the class and train

- After this book the ticket now and fill in the details.

- Enter the OTP received on your mobile number.

- After the payment is complete, a passenger can take a printout of their e-ticket.

Rules For Booking Tatkal Tickets

- Tatkal AC ticket booking starts at 10 am and Non AC from 11 am

- Passengers can book tickets through the IRCTC website or app.

- Travellers can also book tickets from the direct railway counter.

- It is to be noted that only two tickets can be booked from one ID and IP address.

- Agents cannot book till half an hour after the booking starts.
