Delhi Budget 2024: Taking a dig at the Bhartiya Janata Party over the probe by central agencies against the opposition leaders, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, "If Shri Ram had been in this era, the BJP would have sent ED and CBI to his home and had put a gun to his head and asked if he was joining the BJP or going to jail."

Speaking in the Delhi Assembly over the 2024-25 budget, the chief minister said the AAP government is pursuing a model of 'vikas' (development) while the BJP is following a model of 'vinash' (destruction) with its stamping out of opposition parties and toppling of governments.

He further continued and accused the BJP of poaching opposition MLAs to topple their government. The chief minister also claimed that the saffron party wanted to finish the Aam Aadmi Party and a plan was being prepared to send him to jail.

AAP national convener also recalled Manish Sisodia who is in jail for his alleged role in the Delhi Excise Policy scam and said that he will present the 11th budget of the AAP government in the Assembly next year. "Today when we are discussing the budget, I am remembering my younger brother Manish Sisodia. This is the 10th budget of our government. The last 9 budgets were presented by Manish Sisodia and I hope that he will present the 11th budget of our government in this Assembly next year..." CM Kejriwal said.

Meanwhile, he also lauded Finance Minister Atishi for presenting a "magnificent" budget that took care of every section of the Society. The chief minister said every woman in a family will receive Rs 1,000 each under the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojna announced in the budget.

On Thursday, a Delhi court issued a summons to Kejriwal on a fresh complaint by the ED for allegedly evading its summonses in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise scam. The court directed him to appear before them on March 16. Kejriwal has so far skipped eight summons issued by the ED, calling them "illegal and politically motivated".
