INDIA alliance Coordination Committee meeting has ended at NCP leader Sharad Pawar’s residence in New Delhi. The 14-member panel discussed a plethora of issues, including the seat-sharing formula and campaign strategy ahead of the 2024 general elections.   

The alliance decided that it will soon kick start joint public meetings across India, beginning from Bhopal in the first week of October. A joint statement with important decisions made during the deliberation was released after the meeting.

Congress national general secretary KC Venugopal, while addressing a press conference condemned BJP for ‘vendetta politics’ against TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee, as the latter was absent from the meeting due to the ED summon. He told the media that the seat-sharing process will start soon.    

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, while talking to the news agency ANI, said that the member parties will soon decide on the seat-sharing formula. He said a joint rally will be held in Bhopal in the first week of October, where issues like unemployment, corruption and inflation will be raised. Chadha said that the bloc will unanimously raise the issue of caste census. He said that the INDIA bloc will furnish a list of news anchors who will be boycotted by them, owing to their inflammatory debates.

PDP chief while talking to ANI said issue of corruption will be raised in Bhopal meeting. She said the BJP promised two crore employments every year and gas cylinder reached Rs 1200 from Rs 400. Such issues will also be taken up in the first joint rally, the former JK Chief Minister said.
