As the conflict between India and Pakistan entered its third day, tensions have escalated sharply, with Pakistan now targeting residential areas within Indian territory. India’s mighty defence systems successfully thwarted this misadventure, intercepting and neutralising all incoming drones and projectiles.
A singular incident was reported from Punjab’s Ferozpur, where three members of a family were injured in a Pakistani drone attack. The victims sustained burn injuries and are currently receiving treatment.
According to reports, India has launched drone strikes on key Pakistani cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad, in retaliation for sustained attacks by Pakistan. In addition, major Pakistani Air Force bases, including Shorkot, Nur Khan and Murid, have also been targeted in the Indian operations.
Amid the escalating situation, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will today meet CDS and tri-services chiefs to chart the roadmap of further action against Pakistan.
Pakistan launched an attempt to strike multiple military installations across Northern and Western India on Thursday. Their missiles and drones were intended to target cities, including Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bathinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj.
However, this offensive was successfully neutralised by India’s Integrated Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Grid and Air Defence network.
Pakistani forces, on Friday, shifted their focus towards civilian populations residing near the India-Pakistan border. According to ANI, citing the Defence Ministry, Pakistani drones were detected at 26 different points, from Baramulla in the north to Bhuj in the south, along both the International Border and the Line of Control. All of these attacks specifically targeted civilian areas. These attacks were also foiled by the vigilant armed forces.
Intense artillery and mortar shelling from the Pakistani side continued along the Jammu and Kashmir frontier for a third day following India’s Operation Sindoor. The shelling has so far claimed over sixteen lives. The Border Security Force (BSF) foiled a major infiltration bid, eliminating seven terrorists attempting to cross into Indian territory.
