India-Pakistan Ceasefire News Live Updates: Pakistan violated the bilateral understanding on ceasefire with India just hours after the two countries reached an agreement to stop all military aggression. Indian and Pakistan, which have been engaged in a cross-border conflict, decided to immediately stop all firings and military actions on land, air and sea in the afternoon. However, the Pakistani side quickly violated the agreement, sending drones across the border on Saturday night. Pakistani drones were sighted from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir to Bhuj in Gujarat, and the cities in the border states again plunged into darkness with the imposition of complete blackout. Responding to the violation, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)
In a crucial step toward de-escalationearlier on Saturday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that Pakistan's Director General of Military Operations contacted his Indian counterpart earlier this and the two sides agreed to halt all military actions--on land, at sea, and in the air--effective from 1700 hours IST. Misri noted that instructions have been issued to enforce the ceasefire, with another round of DGMO-level talks scheduled for May 12 at noon. "Pakistan's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) called Indian DGMO at 15:35 hours earlier this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land and in the air and sea with effect from 1700 hours Indian Standard Time," Vikram Misri said, adding, "Today, instructions have been given on both sides to give effect to this understanding. The Directors General of Military Operations will talk again on the 12th of May at 1200 hours."

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh says, "Over the past few days, as we have seen, Pakistan has suffered very heavy and unsustainable losses after it has given us an unprovoked attack on our installations. It has suffered losses in both land and air. There has been an extensive damage to the crucial Pakistani air bases- Skardu, Jacobabad and Bholari. In addition, a loss of AD weapon system and radar made the defence of Pakistani airspace untenable. Across the Line of Control, extensive and precise damage to military infrastructure, command control centres, and logistic installations, in addition to that, two military personnel had led to a complete breakdown of its defensive and offensive capability and also Pakistani morale.",
