India-UAE Pacts: India and the UAE inked several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements in diverse areas of cooperation, including nuclear energy, during Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's official visit to New Delhi.
One of the agreements focused on maintaining India's strategic petroleum reserves, which is the stockpile of crude oil reserved for times of crisis. The MoUs were signed after a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the visiting Crown Prince. The agreements are expected to solidify the bilateral energy cooperation between the two sides.
INDIA-UAE MoUs AND AGREEMENTS
1. An MoU in the field of Barakah Nuclear Power Plant Operations and Maintenance between Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) and Nuclear Power Cooperation of India Limited (NPCIL).
2. An agreement between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited for a long-term supply of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG).
3. An MoU between ADNOC and India Strategic Petroleum Reserve Limited (ISPRL).
4. A production concession agreement between Urja Bharat and ADNOC in the context of Abu Dhabi Onshore Block 1 oilfield.
5. An MoU between Gujarat government and Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company PJSC (ADQ) on food parks development in India.
