In response to a surge of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army has increased its vigilance and patrolling efforts in the dense forests of Rajouri and Poonch. Over the past two weeks alone, seven attacks have claimed the lives of 13 individuals, including two soldiers. Armed with advanced surveillance equipment and weaponry, the Army is determined to enhance security in these border districts and prevent further violence.

The Indian Army is implementing a proactive area domination strategy throughout Jammu and Kashmir. This approach includes regular Area Domination Patrols, speculative Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs), and intelligence-driven missions aimed at tracking terrorist movements along the Line of Control (LoC) and in the surrounding regions, according to officials.

They are backed up with drones, modern weapons and surveillance equipment to scan forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) and monitor any suspicious movement to neutralise any threat of cross-border infiltration.

In recent months, there has been an increased security presence in the hinterlands of Jammu and Kashmir due to a series of terrorist attacks. Currently, an operation is underway in the Akhnoor area of Jammu, where three terrorists have been neutralized.

Recently, a terror attack took place at a workers' camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The police said that two foreign terrorists were involved in the indiscriminate firing at civilians in which seven people, including six non-local workers and a local doctor lost their lives and four others sustained injuries.

In response to the surge in terror attacks, the Indian Army has ramped up its efforts in the Rajouri and Poonch districts, where the Rashtriya Rifles are conducting regular and aggressive search operations in dense forest areas. Despite challenging conditions, these troops are employing both technical and manual surveillance methods to monitor regions known for recent incidents of violence.

Army personnel are also trained to use both small arms, like pistols, and automatic weapons like AK rifles and fire at both static and moving targets, news agency PTI reported.
