IndiGo Meltdown: After days of flight disruptions, IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers on Tuesday asserted that flight operations have been stabilised. In a video message, Elbers also stated that most of the customers have received the refunds, adding that their luggage is also being delivered to their homes. He also assured that an internal probe has been launched to decode the exact reasons behind the crisis. Hundreds of IndiGo flights at the key airports got cancelled in the past seven days, leading to a massive outrage from the passengers. The civil aviation ministry has also directed the airline to normalise its function and to provide refunds to the troubled passengers without any delay.
“IndiGo is back on its feet, and our operations are stable. Lakhs of customers have received full refunds, and we continue to process them daily. Most of the bags stuck at airports have been delivered to homes. We are addressing every customer need," he said. Elbers further stated that the airline has been working in cooperation with the government to normalise the situation.

“As of yesterday, we are back to flying to all 138 destinations. We continue to work in full cooperation with the government. Internally, we’ve begun reviewing what led to this disruption, the lessons to be learned, and how to emerge stronger," the IndiGo CEO asserted.
Earlier on Monday, while addressing the Lok Sabha, Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated that IndiGo was supposed to manage the crew and roster as per the latest changes, adding the situation has not been taken lightly.
"We care for pilots, crew and passengers. We made it clear to all the airlines. IndiGo was supposed to manage the crew and roster. Passengers faced a lot of difficulties. We are not taking the situation lightly. We will take strict action. We will set an example for every airline. If there will be any non-compliance, we will take action," Naidu stated.
